Our management team has a proven track record of success in the energy sector and in the region. Most recently, our team was part of AEI’s senior executive group. AEI was a ~$10B revenue power/utility platform becoming the largest private company in Houston in the space.
AEI owned and operated energy assets in emerging markets, managed over 2,270MW of power plants, 7.4 million electricity and gas distribution customers worldwide and ran an extensive network of gas transportation pipelines, among other energy assets.
While at AEI, aside from running the day-to-day operations, our team was directly responsible for the company’s threefold growth and executed a divestiture strategy achieving significant returns for its shareholders.

Emilio A. Vicens
Executive Manager with over 20 years of global energy experience in both regulated and unregulated markets in Latin America, Europe and Asia. Mr. Vicens was last AEI’s CEO, responsible for all aspects of an organization owning and operating assets in twenty countries in Asia, Latin America and Europe, spanning through power generation, electricity and gas distribution utilities, gas transportation, and fuel retail. Previously, he worked for Enron, and for Union Fenosa. Mr. Vicens was board member in recognized energy companies such as Promigas in Colombia, Elektro in Brazil, Meralco in the Philippines, and many others. He holds an MBA degree from Harvard Business School in Boston.
Ramon A. Lafee
Attorney/Executive Manager with more than 12 years of experience in the power sector in South and Central America and the Caribbean, first working with AES, and since 2007, with AEI, where he served as Regional General Counsel for Central America and the Caribbean. He has extensive experience in cross border transactions, M&A, financing, asset management and business development. He holds an LLM degree from Duke University School of Law (US) and an MBA degree from Adolfo Ibañez School of Management (US) and Deusto Business School (Spain).
SVP Operations and EHS
Power plant operations, construction, and start-up professional with over 20 years of experience with projects in South and Central America and the Caribbean. Most recently he was Jaguar Energy Guatemala’s Plant Director (2009-2015). During the plant’s construction, commissioning and start up, he was responsible for the plant’s takeover and O&M as the EPC contractor released the plant. He holds a BsC in mechanical engineering and an MBA.
Consultant/Executive Manager with more than 25 years of experience in the power sector in Central America and the Caribbean. Former Regional Manager of generation and distribution assets for multinational companies in region. Extensive experience in asset management, electricity markets and project development. Since 2011, independent consultant for several national, regional and multinational companies. He holds a M.S in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and an M.B.A. from Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala.
